JVR Charitable trust, is named after Late Sri Jalagam Vengal Rao the Chief Minister of erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh ( 1973 to 1978) and later Industries Minister in the Govt of India (22 October 1986 to 2 December 1989). During his tenure as Zilla Parishad Chairman of the then Khammam District he contributed to the development of remote and tribal areas by providing road networks, starting educational institutions and by providing irrigation facilities. This has greatly helped for all round prosperity of tribal and backward areas. During his tenure as CM , AP has witnessed overall Industrial growth based on agriculture produce, mineral and other resources.
In continuation of his services, his family members in his memory have undertaken a number of welfare activities such as woman education, medical camps, health care in tribal area, provision of warm clothing to poor tribals, employment opportunities by sending woman to be trained as nurses and other social welfare programs.
This is formalised by registering the JVR Charitable Trust Reg # 284/2017 in 2017.
